Elves are known for their haughty attitude, ornate masks, and general disrespect for all other races. They hail from the island nation of Rhysyn, a long trip by sea west from the City of Light. Elves are a rare sight anywhere in the human kingdom - they rarely deign to visit what they consider "lesser" races.
The reason all elves wear ornate masks is because of "the affliction". Shortly after birth, elven skin becomes gray, gnarled, and scaly. This strange disease started several hundred years ago, and has no known cure.
